WINDSONG LEO TAKES 3RD STRAIGHT IN MEADOWS FEATURE; PALONE WINS 6

WASHINGTON, PA, Jan. 10, 2020 — Windsong Leo endured a demanding 26.3 opening quarter in the slop and still had plenty in the tank to notch his third straight victory in Friday’s $20,000 Open Handicap Pace at The Meadows.

After Dave Palone gave Windsong Leo a 29.1 second-panel breather, the 8-year-old Jereme’s Jet-Windsong Goldie gelding threw down a 27.3 third quarter that put the field away. He sprinted off late to score in 1:51, 1-1/2 lengths ahead of Bettor Than Spring, with Do Work Son third.

Ron Burke trains Windsong Leo, a 15-time winner in 2019 who now boasts a lifetime bankroll of $596,460, for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Phillip Collura.
